Sea
A holiday in Caorle beach, Italy, is a versatile town beach where the sea mingles with history and traditions. Situated on the Adriatic shore between Venice and Trieste, Caorle was founded at least two thousand years ago, according to the historian Trino Bottani, who stated that a Roman fleet stationed there "before the year 238 BC," and as demonstrated by the many findings of the Roman period found in the neighbourhoods and into the sea.
The fishing harbour is located in the old town centre and has been turned into a pedestrian zone: old houses painted in soft pastel colours, lanes and small squares recalling the Venetian town planning help to create a magical atmosphere. The church of Our Lady of the Angel, which stands on the cliff overlooking the sea, recalls a sort of beacon for the seafaring people of Caorle that have been depending on fishing for centuries.
